Cliff Richard – Songs of Faith

I grew up with Cliff Richard singing love songs, but he got converted and also sings songs of faith.

1. Just a closer walk with Thee

This is the very first song of faith that I sang at a house meeting. I forgot all the words, but somehow got through it.

2. Why me Lord

Kriss Kristofferson wrote this one.

3. Psalm 23 – Cliff Richard – song of faith

One night I lay in bed and tried to sing this Psalm, so this is what inspired me to do this section. It is such a comfort.

4. Higher Ground

This is one of my favourite hymns, and I was singing it tonight in my room.

5. I wish we’d all been ready

The late Larry Norman sang this one. I think he and Cliff Richard were friends.

6. His Land

We enjoyed being in Israel for 6 days, a long time ago.

7. May the Good Lord bless and keep you

A great old song of faith.

8. Gospel Concert

Cliff Richard ministering in song.

9. Jesus is the answer

I think Andre Crouch wrote this one.

10. How great Thou art

The greatest song of faith, soon after Cliff Richard received Christ as his Saviour.

11. I will follow You

Jesus said: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

12. Our Father who art in Heaven

What a fantastic prayer in song, with such an audience, and so many singers and musicians. Wow.

13. Amazing Grace

A great old standard.

14. Jesus

John at the end of the Book of Revelation said: “Even so, come Lord Jesus.”

15. Jesus loves you

He says he wrote this song. Very good!

16. Jesus won’t You come back to earth

The same as an earlier song, but very beautiful pictures.

17. You and me and Jesus

The love triangle!

18. Flesh and blood

Sharing and singing at a Billy Graham meeting.

Elvis Presley – favorite sad love songs

Sometimes bad things happen, so here is Elvis Presley singing some of my favorite sad love songs.

1. You gave me a mountain – my favorite sad song by Elvis Presley

I heard a radio announcer in Buffalo say how much this favorite sad love song meant to him when his wife left him, and he couldn’t see his children again. I read a book of Alec Baldwin having the same trouble – he couldn’t see his daughter.

2. It keeps right on a hurting

I have heard this sad love song on the radio by another singer. I guess we all go through hurting times. One of my favorites.

3. After loving you

I think I heard Jim Reeves sing this one.

4. I’ll remember you

Nice pics of El and Priscilla when they were together.

5. You’ve lost that loving feeling

It is so sad to see good love go bad.

6. You were always on my mind

So often we take people for granted, but everyone has feelings.

7. Softly as I leave you

A very touching story.

8. For the good times

Yes, we must always concentrate on the good times.

9. Blue eyes crying in the rain

I really enjoyed listening to this one. Nice piano.

10. Blue Spanish Eyes

Such a lovely song that I heard before by Al Martino.

11. I forgot to remember to forget

A very beautiful song.

12. I’m left, you’re right, she’s gone

I heard this when I was young, and still love it.

13. You don’t know me

I love seeing those palm leaves. We had this song on the Clambake movie when we were in South Africa.

Favorite Vacation Songs

1. Seven little girls sitting in the back seat – The Avons

I heard this song by the Clark sisters when we were on vacation at Mac’s Cottages in Margate when we were teenagers, and it brings back so many memories.

2. Like a Tiger

I heard this song at the roller rink in Margate when we were on vacation there. It brings back such happy memories of skating as fast as I could. Wow.

3. Wolverton Mountain

I heard this song as well while we were on vacation as a teenager, and it seemed so exciting.

4. Rock-A-Hula baby – Tim Adams

The Clark sisters had this record by Elvis while we were on vacation, so it also brings back those nice memories of being on holiday by the sea at Mac’s Cottages.

5. African Penny Whistle and Guitar – Nelson Makoka and Solomon Sibiya

One day while on vacation in Margate as a teenager, I saw two Africans walking down the street playing music. One was playing the penny whistle and the other was playing the guitar. It was so beautiful and casual. They weren’t playing for any audience or anything. They were just playing for their own enjoyment. It brings back lasting memories. No fancy bands or “professional” music, but to me it was more beautiful than most other music I have heard.

6. Kokomo – Beach Boys

This is one of those kind of favorite vacation songs that make you want to be on the beach and swim in the sea.

7. Surfer Girl – Beach Boys

How I long to be surfing again!

8. Beyond the sea – Rod Stewart

She waits for me.

9. Surfing USA – Beach Boys

When I first heard this on the radio, it became one of my favorite vacation songs.

10. Beach Boy Blues – Elvis Presley

When Elvis gets in trouble on the Blue Hawaii movie.

11. Sunglasses – Tracy Ullman

So nice to see the beach.

12. Beach blanket bingo

A clip from a movie.

13. Galveston – Inguzz T

An old Glen Campbell song that mentions the sea.

14. Go to Florida – Don Foster

I apologize that my recording is not very good, but it is still one of my favorite vacation songs. This song was originally called: “Go to Durban.”

15. Every day`s a holiday – Don Foster

Another one of my favorite vacation songs. It is based on our holiday in Margate, South Africa, when we were teenagers.

About a hundred times or more, I have put links to songs on the YouTube, only to find they have later been taken off. Maybe people are uploading pirate copies, or maybe it’s the Pirates of the Caribbean that are taking them. If you see Johnny Depp, please ask him if he has seen the songs!

Guy and Ralna – Gospel Songs

One day a week you need to listen to gospel songs to keep your soul on track, so here are Guy and Ralna to help you do that.

1. Do Lord

I also remember singing this gospel song when I was young. The words say: “I took Jesus as my Savior, you take Him too.” If you have never received Jesus as your Savior, I would like to encourage you to do that, because that is the only way to Eternal Life. It looks like Guy and Ralna believe that.

2. Put your hand

Of course this is speaking spiritually. Follow Jesus all the way. I used to sing this gospel song a lot when I first started in the ministry.

3. I saw the light

Jesus said that men love darkness more than light because their deeds are evil. We have to clean up our act. Sing more gospel songs!

4. Guy and Ralna singing a medley of Gospel Songs

We also used to sing Old Time Religion a lot when we were young.

5. What a friend we have in Jesus

Guy and Talna seem to have met this friend, have you? If not, meet Him today on your knees, and ask Him to forgive you all your sins, and to come live in your heart.

6. In the Garden

This is about Mary Magdalene meeting Jesus at the Garden Tomb.

7. Rock of Ages

Paul taught that Jesus is the rock.

8. Away in a manger

Here are Guy and Ralna with their cute little baby girl.

9. All His children

We can become his children by receiving Jesus as our Saviour. “As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” John 1;12.

10. Footprints in the sand

A very lovely song.

11. Footprints (different pictures)

Beautiful pictures. Jesus said He will never leave us.

12. How great Thou art

One of the greatest worship songs ever. Jesus said that God wants people to worship Him. Why not try worshiping Him today.

Extra bonus

13. Lawrence Welk Singers – songs of faith

About a hundred times or more, I have put links to songs on the YouTube, only to find they have later been taken off. Maybe people are uploading pirate copies, or maybe it’s the Pirates of the Caribbean that are taking them. If you see Johnny Depp, please ask him if he has seen the songs!

I also have a Gospel web site. If you want to check it out, go to:  http://countrygospelandbible.com/

Favorite love songs by Guy and Ralna

1. Have I told you lately that I love you – One of my favorite love songs by Guy and Ralna

Today I was singing “Have I told you lately that I love you” and so I thought I would do a section on Guy and Ralna singing this favorite love song. This is one of the first love songs I heard my mother sing when I was a little boy. The way these folks sing is so beautiful to me.

2. I can’t stop loving you

Many times I imagine how Elvis would sing this song, and I swing the guitar around. Unfortunately, I have never seen him do it. This is definitely one of my all time favorite love songs.

3. True love

When Guy and Ralna sing favorite love songs, I think it is the closest you can ever get to the real thing.

4. Let it be me

I heard the Everly Brothers sing this one when I was a teenager, so it brings back lots of lovely memories.

5. When I’m sixty four

Their songs seem to span the decades. I heard this one many times on the radio by the Fab Four.

6. You’re my best friend

One of my favorite love songs by Don Williams.

7. Bye bye love

I remember singing this one at the Salisbury Rock Band Contest back in 1964. It was lots of fun, even though it is a sad song.

8. Dream a little dream of me

This one makes me think of being on a tropical island.

9. Sentimental journey

Going back to make new memories.

10. Don’t sit under the apple tree

Here’s another one that takes me back to my childhood. My mother was involved in the Second World War, and she often sang it.

11. Orange Blossom Special

A Johnny Cash special from Folsom Prison.

12. Let me be there

Olivia would be proud!

13. You light up my life

We first heard this song by Pat Boone’s daughter when we went to his show in Johannesburg. It is so beautiful how they relate it to their daughter. To each of us, songs stir up certain feelings and memories.

14. I can’t help falling in love with you

Take my hand, take my whole life too! That is true love!

15. Leaving on a jet plane

I first heard this song at a Four Jacks and a Jill concert in the Bulawayo City Hall, back in the 60’s.

16. The twelfth of never

I first heard this one by Cliff Richard.

17. Only you

Guy and Ralna sing every song well.

18. There’s no place like home

So true.

19. Moon over Miami

I love the old fashioned clothing.

About a hundred times or more, I have put links to songs on the YouTube, only to find they have later been taken off. Maybe people are uploading pirate copies, or maybe it’s the Pirates of the Caribbean that are taking them. If you see Johnny Depp, please ask him if he has seen the songs!

Favorite Love Songs by Pat Boone

Pat Boone sings some of my favorite love songs, and I would like to share some of them with you.

1. Remember you’re mine

I had this girl friend once, who told me: “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours is mine.”

2. I’m walking the floor over you

An oldie, but a goodie.

3. Let me call you sweetheart

I played in a band long ago that did this number. On some of these songs his wife Shirley sings with him. On some of the pictures though, there is not his wife, but Shirley Jones.

4. Side by side

When I was little I saw some folks sing this on TV in Salisbury, Rhodesia.

5. My Happiness

This is still one of my favorite love songs. I think this was the first recording Elvis did – for his mother.

6. Vaya con Dios

Very beautiful.

7. Melody of love

This is a new one for me, but very nice.

8. My blue heaven

I heard this as an instrumental when I was a teenager.

9. Tennessee Waltz

An old standard.

10. Blueberry Hill

Every singer gives their own different feeling to a song.

11. Pearly Shells

One of my favorite love songs by Pat Boone. I still long to be by the sea.

12. Why Baby why

I think this was maybe one of his big hits.

13. Bernardine

I think this was the very first song I heard Pat Boone sing. I was about 11 years old at a friend’s house, and I saw the record cover with his face on it. It really impressed me, and I longed to be able to make a record myself one day, with my face on it.

14. Rock around the clock

This was a big hit for Bill Haley when I was young, and I longed to grow up and party all night!

15. Love letters in the sand – my favorite love song by Pat Boone

One of the greatest recordings ever. He told us that he had it on the “B” side of his record, because there has to be a song on the other side. He never expected it to be a hit.

16. Ain’t that a shame

His copy of Fats Domino.

17. Moon River

Such a lot of world to see. I’ve only been in 15 countries.

18. Remember me, I’m the one who loves you

I was listening to Stuart Hamblin sing this yesterday.

19. Begin the Beguine

I heard my mother sing this when I was little, and I never knew what she was talking about. Apparently “Beguine” is a dance.

20. Harbor lights

My mother went to England during the war, in case some other harbour lights took her husband away from her. So I got born in England. Then after the war, they went back to Rhodesia.

21. Running Bear

I loved this song when I was a teenager. We had the record by another singer.

22. Everybody’s somebody’s fool

We have the Connie Francis recording.

23. Jambalaya

Maybe Pat Boone was influenced by Hank Williams there in Nashville!

24. Unchained Melody

Lonely rivers flow to the sea. I never knew rivers got lonely, but it is done very nicely.

25. Rosemarie

It seems like a number of American singers had hits in countries like Germany or Japan. Maybe Pat Boone had the same experience.

26. Sentimental me

Nice romantic video.

27. Drifting and Dreaming

Beautiful pictures and singing.

28. You can’t be true Dear

A sad song, but they sing it very nicely.

Beautiful.

Nice wedding.

31. Mona Lisa

Well done.

32. I left my heart in San Francisco

I have left my heart in many places, and that is one of them!

33. Wayward Wind

My wayward ways are the fault of the train station. That’s a good excuse! I used to sing this as one of my favorite love songs when I was a teenager.

Pat Boone Gospel Songs

The other day I was asked to sing at the church party next month, and I thought I should sing the Pat Boone gospel song called: “A wonderful time up there.” I wasn’t sure of all the right words, so I looked it up on the youtube. So this led me to a bunch of material from Pat Boone that I would like to share with you.

1. A wonderful time up there – my favorite Pat Boone Gospel Song

This was a big hit when I was 12 years old. I was so proud of Pat Boone for putting a gospel song on the hit parade. To me it was a much better song than “Flying purple people eater.”

2. Radio Station S.A.V.E.D.

I have heard this song before somewhere, but it has been running through my mind last night. Gospel radio is such a wonderful tool for the salvation message. As I watch this video, I remember a big mistake I made. I had a phone calll once from a man at Trans World Radio in Swaziland wanting one of my records to play on the air. At the time, I was low on money, and told him how much it would cost. So I never heard from him again. I was such a fool – I could have had my record played on the radio.

3. Beyond the sunset

This is one of my all time favourites. Whenever I see a sunset, I think of this beautiful song. It was written by a blind lady.

4. For those tears I died

I had this record back in the 70’s when I was in South Africa. In fact I had a whole lot of his records, but I can’t find them on the net. I loved the records where he was backed by the First Nashville Jesus Band.

5. Heart full of happiness

I had never heard this one before, but I hope you like it.

6. I wish we’d all been ready

I heard this one before by Larry Norman. The message is still for today.

7. Just a closer walk with Thee

It seems like everyone sings this one, but it is still a message we all need to hear. We can get so wrapped up in the cares of this life that we forget to walk daily with the Lord!

8. Peace in the valley

All the famous singers seem to sing the wrong words on this one. It was written by Thomas Dorsey in the 30’s when war was looming in Europe. He was on a train in the USA  looking out the window at the different animals grazing peacefully in the field, and he wondered how come humans can’t live together in peace. This song was sung before by Red Foley, his father-in-law.

9. Good News

Pat Boone says he wrote it. I never knew he wrote songs!

10. It is no secret

Here is another one that everybody sings.

11. Whispering Hope

Back in the 80’s I lost hope, and that was a new experience for me. I had never realized how important hope was.

12. This Land is mine (Masada)

Very interesting.

13. There’s a gold mine in the sky

Streets of gold! But mules don’t need gold!

14. Sweet hour of prayer

Back in the 70’s I went to the Full Gospel Church in Germiston under Pastor Green, and on Wednesday night they used to kneel down and pray for an hour. At first I ran out of things to pray for, then I devised a system of going through the alphabet remembering people, and that helped me through.

15. In the Garden

The guy who wrote this song had a vision of Mary Magdalene at the garden tomb.

I also have a Gospel web site. If you want to check it out, go to:  http://countrygospelandbible.com/

Dean martin seems like such a happy person. Unfortunately, from what I have read, he has been through a lot of heartache and tragedy too. I hope he made it through the pearly gates, then if I make it too, I can one day meet him! I also have a gospel site if you are interested: country gospel and bible.

Johnny Cash Gospel Songs

I love Johnny Cash’s gospel songs. Some of them I have sung many times over the years at various venues.

1. I talk to Jesus every day

I just love this one, and have sung it hundreds of times.

2. It was Jesus

Here is singing at a concert. I read his book where he said he wanted to be a gospel singer, but the man at the record business wanted him to just sing the rockabilly stuff.

3. I saw a man

When I was learning to sing this one, it felt like such a holy feeling. Like I was on holy ground when I sang it.

4. Wings in the morning

I saw this album on sale many years ago, so bought a whole bunch and sent them to all the family. A few years ago when we were in Scotland, my one sister asked me to sing this song, but I had forgotten the words. So it is so nice to find it on the youtube.

5. I saw the light

Jesus said He is the light of the world.

6. Daddy sang bass

I sang this one at my one sister’s wedding reception. We did a lot of singing together as children. My family had church in the house five times a week!

7. Old time religion

We sang this one many times as a family.

8. How great Thou art

Everyone sings this one, but it is still one of the greatest worship hymns.

9. Here was a man

I bought this record back in about 1972, and many times I could feel the Holy Spirit moving when I sang it at various church meetings.

10. Over the next hill we’ll be home

Many times on the road, I would sing this song as we were nearing our destination.

11. The Preacher said: Jesus said

So good to see Johnny Cash working with Dr. Billy Graham.

12. The old account was settled long ago

I sang this one when I was a teenager. It brings back lots of memories. Dear friend, please make your peace with God, because we never know when we are going to die. I have been close to death many times.

13. Life’s Railway to Heaven

Another favourite gospel song I sang in my childhood, except, I used to sing “railroad.”

14. The Fourth Man

When my kids were little, we often sat around the fire at night in the garden, and I would play my guitar, and sing this one.

15. Jesus was a carpenter

When I sang this one, I used to change the names of the places to suit the country I was in.

16. Are all the children in – one of my Favorite Johnny Cash Gospel Songs

This is such a powerful song. There have been times when I have sung this, and given the invitation for salvation, and about 50 young people resonded, giving their hearts to Jesus.

17. I call Him

I sang this one night at a church service, and the evangelist mentioned it in his sermon. The next night I was singing on the TV, when the evangelist came on right in the middle of the show, and I had to come on right after him singing: “Honeycomb won’t you be my baby.” I felt so terrible. That was the beginning of me switching to gospel songs.

18. I won’t have to cross Jordan alone (by the Jordan River)

This is so beautiful. Johnny Cash by the Jordan River singing one verse of this good old gospel song.

19. I won’t have to cross Jordan alone (whole song)
