Early the other morning as I looked out of my bedroom window and “surveyed my kingdom,” it made me think of this song: Mockingbird Hill. Lately the world news has made me so depressed, with all those deaths in Kabul, and the other people stranded there at the airport, etc, that I have decided to go back to listening to songs. Songs uplift my spirit and make me happy. Here are lots of singers performing this favorite love song. Maybe I will learn it too, and sing it somewhere, sometime.
Shelley Fabares says she can’t sing, yet one of her favourite love songs: “Johnny Angel” hit number one on the billboard hit parade. I remember years ago having the video of the movie Clambake, and seeing her on there with Elvis Presley. Apparently she was on three movies with Elvis. I saw her once on a surfing movie too. I have tried to put together a bunch of her songs in alphabetical order, and I hope you like them. She is still alive, yet Elvis left us many years ago.
I hope you enjoy some of these favorite love songs by Shelley Fabares, and I hope they bring back happy memories of the old days of long ago. By the way, I also have a gospel website, if you would like to check it out. It is great to have fun here on earth, but the most important thing is to get saved by faith in Jesus Christ, and have a great eternity too! God bless y’all. countrygospelandbible.com
These folks sing and play some of my favorite love songs that take me way back to my childhood, through into my teenage years and on into adulthood. I wish I could play guitar like Herb Kraus, and I wish I could move like the Walkin’ Shoes.
Tulsa Time In America they have time zones, and they change the times twice in a year too – it can be very confusing for a foreigner. When I first went to Canada, I was asked to sing in a church, so I went a half an hour early to set up my amplifier, and discovered they were already busy with the song service. Nobody had thought to tell me that they had changed the clocks!
Route 66 I first heard this song by the Rolling Stones.
That’ll be the day I think I heard this favorite love song by Mickie Most when I was a teenager.
Let’s have a party I remember Elvis Presley singing this song. I grew up in a British Colony in Africa, and when I was a little boy at school they told me about the Boston Tea Party. How some guys dressed up as Red Indians and threw tea into the sea. We never has a sea in our country, so we never did that! We never shook a chicken in the middle of the room either!
Rock and roll medley Herb Kraus and the Walkin’ Shoes have a whole lot more songs on the YouTube, if you want to check them out. I also have a country gospel website, if you would like to check it out: countrygospelandbible.com
I got kind of carried away while looking through favorite love songs by John Denver, and loaded many more songs than ever before by any artist. I remember the first time I ever saw him on TV and he was singing: “You fill up my senses.” I have tried to list the songs in an alphabetical order.
Leaving on a jet plane – with Cass Elliot. I first heard this song when I went to listen to Four Jacks and a Jill at the large City Hall in Bulawayo. There was a girl group who sang it. It was only many years later that I discovered it was written by John Denver.
This old guitar – The story about the guitar really touched my heart. Also how somebody hated him and hit him over the head with the guitar. Some people have also hated me and my singing. So it is a great comfort that I am not alone in my feelings.
His death It is so sad that John Denver’s life was cut short. It seems to happen to so many singers. I hope he was “saved” before he died. I also have a country gospel website, if you would like to check it out: countrygospelandbible.com
Down the line I first heard this song by Cliff Richard, so I guess he copied it from Jerry Lee Lewis.
It’ll be me The same with this song, it was a hit for Cliff Richard in the country that I grew up in. It was written by Jack Clement. He wrote quite a few songs. He was the recording engineer at Sun Records. Johnny Cash recorded his song – Dirty old egg sucking dog.

When I was a kid, Elvis sang lots of my favorite love songs, and one of them was “Let’s have a party.” I want to share with you another party – that is in the future.

Sir Paul McCartney is loved by millions around the world for the favorite love songs that he sang and wrote. A friend shared this video of Paul McCartney with James Corden in carpool karaoke, which I enjoyed very much and felt I must share it with you.
He said he sang in the St. Barnabas Church choir. I thought that was very interesting. They go the the old house where he used to live – that was fascinating. The people in the pub love his singing and music!
This is Linda McCartney on the Vicki Show. On one of the shows, I was impressed by Paul McCartney. When he was asked what his greatest achievement was in life, he said it was being a father. So he must love his kids very much!
This morning I was listening to some of these old “live” performances of Elvis, and enjoyed them very much. Hence I am sharing them with you. There is something about his singing and his energy that inspired me to start singing when I was young.
When I was at The Sun Studio back in 1983, all that was there was an old beat-up piano. From what I see on the internet, it is now a fancy tourist attraction. I was interested to hear him singing “You belong to my heart.” I can’t remember hearing him sing that song before. It is one of my favorite love songs from the old days by Ned Miller.
I just thought I would share a bit today, then later on I will probably add on more video links. Yesterday I was looking through my Elvis songbook, and he still sings many of my favorite love songs.
I only found out about Johnny Harra a couple of weeks ago, but found him very interesting. He looks so much like the real Elvis Presley. I have chosen a few favorite love songs that he sings, and also a bit about his life. He was born the same years as me, and I am grateful to God that I am still alive.
Many times at night I lie in bed and sing this song to myself. It is one of my all time favorite love songs. I just imagine how nice it would be to be walking along the beach while the moon is over the sea, and the waves lapping at my feet.
Very good. We saw Elvis in Reno in 1976, but he tells of how he saw Elvis in Denver in 1976. Then the next morning there was a photo of him on the front page of the newspaper – they mistook him for Elvis!. So he got all excited and spent about $50 on newspapers. I thought that was so funny. I had my photo on the front page of a newspaper some years back, but I was ashamed that I looked so ugly!
Sandi said she loved this song, so I have added it on!
Johnny Harra, was born in 1946, sadly Johnny passed away in 2011. He was giving tribute to Elvis Presley for over 40 years. Famous for his role in the docudrama, “This Is Elvis” released in 1982. Since Elvis’ untimely death in 1977, during the filming of “This Is Elvis”, Johnny Harra is the only person to have laid in Elvis Presley’s bed. He had a show in Vegas, as well as on tour. Johnny starred in several re-enactments of Elvis sightings, and guest appearances on many shows. He is greatly missed by family, friends, and fans worldwide.
Harra means “Gift of God.” Some say that he was “Elvis” longer than Elvis was! I also have a gospel site if you would like to check it out: Country Gospel and Bible
