There is something about country roads that has a great appeal to me, plus the idea of going home is also very appealing. A double winner!

Memphis Tennessee – a favorite love song

Memphis Tennessee is one of my all time favorite love songs, and every so often I take my guitar and play and sing it. It has such a nice beat, and playing it in the key of D, I love doing those weird notes that make it so special. I was written by Chuck Berry, and it seems like just about every singer likes to sing this song.

Favorite Gospel Songs by Willie Nelson

Last year I heard that Willie Nelson had died, I so decided to do a tribute to him of some of my favorite gospel songs that he wrote and sang. When I checked his history, I found out that apparently he hasn’t died, and it was just a hoax. I don’t know him personally, so I cannot tell for sure. Some time ago I did a section on my favorite love songs that he sings, but anyway, I have decided to go ahead and honor him regarding the spiritual songs that he sang. A friend told me once that he wished he had given his mother flowers while she was alive. So here are some “flowers” for Mr. Nelson.

The other day I was waiting in the car for my family, changing stations on the radio to save boredom, and I heard the tail end of a song about going to the dentist. I found it was Blake Shelton, so I have added him to my favorite love songs.
