Memphis Tennessee – a favorite love song

Memphis Tennessee is one of my all time favorite love songs, and every so often I take my guitar and play and sing it. It has such a nice beat, and playing it in the key of D, I love doing those weird notes that make it so special. I was written by Chuck Berry, and it seems like just about every singer likes to sing this song.

The first time I heard Memphis Tennessee was by Johnny Rivers on the radio in Bulawayo.

Favorite Gospel Songs by Willie Nelson

Last year I heard that Willie Nelson had died, I so decided to do a tribute to him of some of my favorite gospel songs that he wrote and sang. When I checked his history, I found out that apparently he hasn’t died, and it was just a hoax. I don’t know him personally, so I cannot tell for sure. Some time ago I did a section on my favorite love songs that he sings, but anyway, I have decided to go ahead and honor him regarding the spiritual songs that he sang. A friend told me once that he wished he had given his mother flowers while she was alive. So here are some “flowers” for Mr. Nelson.

This is the very first song I ever sung in front of an audience, and I forgot most of the words.

This is my favorite gospel song for worshiping God.

The other day I was waiting in the car for my family, changing stations on the radio to save boredom, and I heard the tail end of a song about going to the dentist. I found it was Blake Shelton, so I have added him to my favorite love songs.

I can relate so much to the things in this song, like the dentist, the parking lot, the man in the electric wheelchair, and the road rage guy. This is now one of my favorite music videos of all time. I love the way he keeps his cool through all the stressful situations.

There are probably hundreds of guys who are Elvis Impersonators, singing his favorite love songs, but I would like to share a few with you.

Johnny Cash said that Andy was Elvis’ favorite impersonator.

4. Ben Portsmouth at Collingwood

When I was typing it, I made an error and typed Dollingwood! Maybe Dolly Parton will come next! This is Ben singing “I can’t stop loving you” – one of my own personal favorite love songs.

The make up is incredible. All of these artists are so incredible, and do such wonderful imitations of the king.

It is very interesting to hear Donny’s story of how people persuaded him to get into it.

9. Chris Connor – Rise of a Legend

He looks a lot like Elvis.

10. Darren Lee – Walk a mile in my shoes

This is a good song – the words are so true. So many people love to criticize, when they don’t know what it’s like to be in your shoes.

Receives the “Heart of the king” award, then goes into action. Wow, Dean does all the moves of the king in just a couple of songs. He is very good at his imitation. I wonder how his girlfriend feels about him kissing all the girls.

Wow, it is so nice to see her. She is the real deal. The ex-wife. Up close and personal. Knows all about him. I read her book some years back. She is a year older than me – I just looked it up.

15. Jim Carrey – Blue suede shoes

I think this might be part of a movie.

16. David Scott – Always on my mind

It is sad to see he died so young.

17. A Canadian woman looking for her father – he turns out to be an Elvis impersonator in Thailand.

I saw this on the news the other week, and I thought it was very interesting.
